GOSSIP | INTERVIEWS | ABOUT ERIN | CONTACT: SMACK TALK ERIN

I can't help myself I'm addicted to a life of material. It's some kind of joke, I'm obsessively opposed to the typical. All we care about is runway models, cadillacs and liquor bottles. Give me something. I wanna be retro glamour, Hollywood yes we live for the fame. Doin' it for the Fame. Cuz we wanna live the life of the rich and famous. Fame, doin' it for the Fame. Cuz we gotta taste for champagne and endless fortune.

Erin Winestead was completely unknown until she discovered the world of blogging. Born on a horse farm in Boulder, Colorado, Erin spent most of her time reading fashion magazines and grocery store gossip rags. Erin always felt that her life was too plain and boring. Her parents were normal, her friends were average, and life on a farm was far from glamorous. Somehow living vicariously through celebrities made it all bearable.

From the time she was eight years old, Erin was determined to become famous. The problem was, she wasn't a particularly talented girl. She couldn't sing worth a damn, that was for sure. She'd tried acting, but was never good enough to be cast in a leading role in any of the school plays, hard as she tried. She wasn't tall enough to become a fashion model. The only thing she knew how to do was talk about celebrities. She grew up thinking her dreams were bust. She didn't know how to become famous if she had no talent. The only thing she could think of was to move to Hollywood and start dating famous people. And that's exactly what she did.

Erin moved to Los Angeles as soon as she finished high school. She started taking classes at Occidental College, although she never planned to finish. If things went her way, she wouldn't have a need for college. All she ever wanted to do was study celebrity culture, and that was the only thing she had planned for herself. She spent all the time she wasn't in class hunting celebrities. She found out where they went to eat or to shop or to go clubbing. She found out where the paparazzi hung out, and where the celebrities went to hide from them. She quickly found that the best way to spot celebrities was to hang out on Robertson Boulevard.

Robertson Blvd. became her favorite hang out spot. She would bring her books there every day and pretend to study, while she was actually looking out for someone famous. She eventually got pretty good at "celebustalking", as she called it, and this excited her. She wanted to find a way to share all the things she had seen with people from back home, mostly so that they would be jealous of her. That was how she started blogging. celebustalking.blogspot.com was Erin's first celebrity gossip blog.

Her blog soon gained notoriety. Not only did Erin hear and see a lot of things first hand so she was able to report them to the internet community fairly quickly, her bitchy and politically incorrect commentary also caught readers attention. Some loved her, some hated her, but all that mattered was that she was getting over a million hits per day.

Eventually Erin made a deal with a paparazzi company and became even more notorious than she already was. Erin started posting the most scandalous pictures of celebrities she could find, complete with snarky commentary. She moved to ErinWinestead.com. The fact that the website was so hugely popular caught the attention of the international press community. Soon enough, Erin was the most well-recognized celebrity gossip blogger, making appearances on TV and radio shows.

This popularity (albeit not with most celebrities) lead to Erin getting an offer from E! to do her own TV show. The TV show featured celebrity interviews, along with fashion reports and musical performances.

Now, Erin is a celebrity in her own right. She is almost as recognized and photographed as the celebrities she still bitches about on her blog. Only now, those celebrities are her friends.
